Wild Boar Warrior
A primal forest-dwelling boar humanoid built with a focus on grounded realism and physical weight. The goal was to avoid a stylized “fantasy monster” and instead create a believable creature that feels part of its environment.
The anatomy emphasizes a heavy, powerful build with subtle fat layers and asymmetry to break the perfect CG look. The head design is based on real wild boar features, adapted into a humanoid structure with worn tusks, rough skin, and aggressive proportions.
Skin texturing was done with multiple layers including pores, scars, dirt, and roughness variation to achieve a natural, lived-in feel. Subsurface scattering was kept minimal to maintain thick, tough skin characteristics.
The character is equipped with simple leather gear and a battle-worn axe, both showing age, wear, and usage. The forest environment and lighting were designed to support the character’s narrative, using natural light and soft volumetrics to enhance depth and realism.
The overall focus was on creating a believable, raw, and immersive creature grounded in a natural ecosystem.
